Gina Barroso

Director of Strategic Development and

Community Outreach

At Broward Health Imperial Point our workplace culture of diversity and inclusion is top driven. Hiring and caring for a diverse population is a priority. I cannot think of an organization where diversity could be more relevant than healthcare. As a hospital a diverse team translates to better understanding and superior patient care. It makes sense and is good for business.

Gina Barroso is the director of strategic development and community outreach at Broward Health Imperial Point Hospital, part of the Broward Health organization. Offering a full spectrum of health care services, the not-for-profit, tax assisted community health system, is the tenth largest health care system in the nation.

Located in the Imperial Point area of Fort Lauderdale, BHIP is a boutique 204-bed hospital providing quality care to a rapidly growing community since 1972. With a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, BHIP is committed to providing patients and their families access to compassionate, personalized care. BHIP is also recognized as a top performer by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC)'s Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) Report 2020.

Prior to joining Broward Health, Gina spent most of her professional live working as a journalist in the U.S. and covering Latin America, always with a passion and a focus on human rights. Her journalism career includes television management and government public affairs. The Emmy Award winning journalist was recognized with Columbia University's Fair Media Award.
