Gina Barroso is the director of strategic development and community outreach at Broward Health Imperial Point Hospital, part of the Broward Health organization. Offering a full spectrum of health care services, the not-for-profit, tax assisted community health system, is the tenth largest health care system in the nation.

 

Located in the Imperial Point area of Fort Lauderdale, BHIP is a boutique 204-bed hospital providing quality care to a rapidly growing community since 1972. With a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, BHIP is committed to providing patients and their families access to compassionate, personalized care. Prior to joining Broward Health, Gina spent most of her professional live working as a journalist in the U.S. and covering Latin America, always with a passion and a focus on human rights. Her journalism career includes television management and government public affairs. The Emmy Award winning journalist was recognized with Columbia University's Fair Media Award.

 

Gina has a Master's in Business Administration from Saint Thomas University in Miami, a B.A. in communications from William Paterson University in New Jersey and a degree in design from Parson's School of Design in NYC. She is a proactive advocate in LGBTQ+ hospital initiatives and works closely with such organizations as the Pride Center, the LGBTQ chamber of commerce and the Wilton Manors community at large.
